Parking in the future

Passenger growth, along with new and improved car parking facilities have driven an increase in car park usage, particularly for long-term parking. It is expected that by 2034 approximately 35,000 car parking bays will be required across the airport estate.

Over time, the current ‘at-grade’ car parks will be progressively replaced by multi-storey car parks to meet the growing demand. These buildings may also provide facilities for car rental and small charter vehicles (SCVs).

The multi-storey car parks will be linked directly to the terminals by covered walkways.
