24 July, 2018
Perth Airport has announced the expansion of its Duty Free offering, signing a seven year deal with Swiss-based global travel retailer Dufry.

Dufry will operate duty-free stores in both the Departures and Arrivals areas in Terminal 1, offering customers a wide range of products from the most renowned brands in the world across several categories, including Perfumes & Cosmetics, Wine & Spirits, Confectionery, Electronics, and Watches & Fashion Accessories.

Perth Airport Chief Executive Officer Kevin Brown has welcomed Dufry’s decision to expand its offering to Perth Airport.

“Perth Airport is focused on giving our customers a world-class experience so we look forward to working in close partnership with Dufry to give travellers even more reasons to enjoy moving through Perth Airport,” Mr Brown said.

“With 1,200m2 in Departures and 1,100min Arrivals, Dufry will serve more than 4 million international passengers who travel in and out of Perth Airport every year, providing a unique and exciting shopping environment.”

Perth Airport has undergone a major transformation over the past seven years with a $1 billion redevelopment program, and is now planning further upgrades, including the T1 International terminal, to create a seamless journey and quality customer experience through the airport.

“This expanded Duty Free opportunity is all about enhancing the traveller journey and delivering world-class customer experience which is at the heart of everything we do,” Mr Brown said.

Dufry’s Divisional CEO for Eastern Europe, Asia, Middle East and Australia, Andrea Belardini, said the company is looking forward to developing the stores with a high level of technological innovation, a bespoke sense of place, and a strong focus on digital engagement.

“We view this partnership as a further step in witnessing our commitment to expand in Asia Pacific. We have appreciated the close cooperation with Perth Airport management in setting a common agenda and establishing ways of working to ensure the delivery of a consumer centric approach,” Mr Belardini said.

Dufry is expected to begin operating at Perth Airport from the beginning of October this year.
