Perth Airport rejects false A4ANZ claim

The airline-funded lobby group A4ANZ today claimed that Perth Airport had told Qantas that it was not allowed to compete on a Johannesburg route against South African Airways.

In rejecting the claim as baseless, Perth Airport released the following statement:

“Mr Samuel has completely misrepresented Perth Airport’s position and has not contacted us for a more informed and balanced view. Perth Airport welcomes competition and has never told any airline it cannot compete on a route. Perth Airport has repeatedly publicly stated it is ready and willing to accommodate the Qantas Johannesburg flight through the international terminal, where 18 other international carriers operate.”
