Perth Airport welcomes Virgin Australia's Abu Dhabi service

20 September, 2016
Perth Airport has welcomed the announcement that Virgin Australia will commence services between Perth and Abu Dhabi from June 2017.

The new service will operate on Virgin Australia’s A330-200 aircraft, in partnership with Etihad Airways, and will provide direct connections to Etihad’s network which includes 23 European destinations, 15 Middle East destinations and 10 African destinations.

“Virgin Australia’s announcement today is great news for Western Australians, and people wanting to visit our great State,” said Kevin Brown, Chief Executive Officer, Perth Airport.

“This new direct service offers greater choice when travelling to Abu Dhabi, either as a final destination or for onward travel to Europe, the Americas and Africa,” said Mr Brown.

“The close proximity of Terminal 2 (Regional), Terminal 1 (Domestic) and Terminal 1 (International) at Perth Airport allows Virgin Australia passengers to transfer seamlessly between regional, domestic and international services in the one convenient location, under one roof making transfers the easiest they have ever been,” said Mr Brown.

The new service will depart Perth each Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 11:05pm arriving into Abu Dhabi at 6:35am. The return service will depart Abu Dhabi each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 8:20am arriving into Perth at 11:25pm.
